  • Coffee culture is here to stay. So what’s changing? Java drinkers are ditching traditional add-ins like cream and sugar for way more nutritious ingredients. Searches for healthy coffee are up a whopping 218 percent on Pinterest, as more people look for new ways to boost their jolt (rather than kick caffeine altogether— as if!). Try mixing in splashes of these good-for-you extras.
  • Coconut Water If you chase your workout with coffee, this hack is for you. Coconut water replenishes the electrolytes—minerals that help with muscle and nerve function—you lose when you exercise, says dietitian Wendy Leonard, RDN, founder of Rhode Island Nutrition
Therapy. Add half a cup to your cold brew for a sweet-tasting post–sweat sesh refreshment.
  • MCT Oil When coffee is literally your breakfast, adding a serving of medium-chaintriglyceride (MCT) oil to your warm mug is clutch. Rich in fatty acids, it can stave off hunger and diminish the stress hormones that can come with downing your morning joe on an empty stomach. Bonus: MCT oil has antimicrobial qualities that can kill off the bad bacteria in your gut.
  • Cinnamon Sprinkle ¼ teaspoon into your drink, says dietitian Rachel Paul, PhD, RD (aka @College Nutritionist). Cinnamaldehyde, the stuff that gives cinnamon its flavor and heavenly scent, has antioxidant properties that may improve cholesterol, lower blood pressure, and
inhibit the growth of bad breath–causing bacteria. (That post-coffee stank is so real!)
  • Collagen Powder The flavorless, protein-based dust ($43, amazon .com) is made from amino acids that mimic those in your hair, skin, and nails, says Rachael DeVaux, RD, founder
of Rachaels GoodEats.com. Ingesting it may strengthen your bod’s collagen supply and possibly prevent wrinkles. Plop a tablespoon into your iced or hot coffee, and stir. MCT Oil
